Casa Colina is ideally placed for those who enjoy relaxed walking in beautiful surroundings. There are many pretty and interesting routes for walkers of all levels.
Alternatively, just a short drive away, you can explore the whitewashed Andalucian villages in the foothills of Mount Maroma, which sits in its own national park. There are numerous paths and tracks, offering spectacular views and the chance to enjoy the local wildlife. These tracks range from the easy stroll to the more physically demanding.
For serious hikers the trails up Mount Maroma (2066 meters) provide some challenging walks.

Baviera Golf Club is 35 minutes away at La Caleta de Velez. 18 holes, par 71, designed by José María Cañizares. Located close to the coast, with sea and mountain views, this is "an even course characterized by its wide greens with many movements and the great variety of obstacles which offer a big range of strokes and an ideal design for all types of handicap"
Anoreta Golf Club at Rincon de la Victoria was the first golf course to be built in the area east of Malaga city, and is 45 minutes away. 18 holes, par 72, also designed by Jose Maria Cañizares. The course is an interesting challenge suited to players of all abilities. There are generous fairways and fast rolling greens - some of which are well protected by bunkers and water.
Also within 40 minutes drive are:Guadalhorce where you will find that the first 9 holes are a parkland type course and the back 9 has elevated greensLauro is a scenic course set in gentle hills and has wonderful views of the sea and the mountainsMalaga Parador was founded in 1925 and is the oldest golf course on the Costa del SolEl Candado is a short course but don't let that fool you and don't be distracted by the sea views! Antequera Golf Course with its 18 holes is 650 metres above sea level and is surrounded by El Torcal Nature Park.

If you are a bird watching enthusiast don't forget to bring your binoculars. There are many birds to be seen from the terraces of the house and along your walking route. Maybe wild flowers are your particular field, they are here in abundance in the early spring months.
The area offers a variety of bird species from common pied wagtails to hoopoes, honey buzzards and eagles. Our local sparrow hawk patrols the territory close to the house, and in the summer, flocks of bee-eaters line up on the telephone wires. In the autumn, we witness hundreds of buzzards and eagles soaring over the house, before making the long flight down to Gibraltar and across to north Africa.
There are many great opportunities to create your very own bit of magical Andalucia to take home. Tranquil olive groves, ruins of old fincas, lakeside vistas, picturesque villages or soaring mountains. The choice is yours.
Have a day's skiing on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada - a very popular day trip for Andalucia's winter visitors. You won´t believe you are in Spain!
The Sierra Nevada ski resort lies just beyond Granada, and is just 2 hours drive away. It provides good skiing and snowboarding for all levels of ability. Skis and equipment can be hired for the day from many outlets within the resort.
